Marcia Daszko’s new book

PIVOT DISRUPT TRANSFORM emerges!

PIVOT DISRUPT TRANSFORM, the first leadership transformation book written by Marcia Daszko, is now available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It will be available in bookstores on Oct. 2. ( Pre-order on Amazon /Pre-order on Barnes & Noble) After years of working on this book and using its principles in my consulting for 25 years; teaching leadership MBA classes in six universities across the nation; and, speaking to corporate and conference groups, I can share PIVOT, DISRUPT, TRANSFORM: How Leaders Beat the Odds and Survive

My Aim

My aim with this book is to provoke your thinking. It can help develop your natural leadership and transform your organization. Of course, as soon as it is published, it will be open for discussion, improvement ideas, and bold innovative thinking. It’s a foundation for learning, exploring, hypothesizing, challenging current beliefs, assumptions and practices and considering different behaviors and actions. That’s a basic principle we have been living for decades in our continually improving quality world. In short, based in a theoretical foundation it is a guide to help leaders STOP chasing management fads and “best practices that lead to self-destruction;” START thinking with a fearless, bold approach based on proven theories of management; and, begin a new journey to TRANSFORM. Over the next few months, I’ll share excerpts and quotes from the book. Mark your calendars and grab your book! I’ll be speaking about the book’s provocative themes at every opportunity to engage with leaders and help them think and act different. I’ll ask questions that many leaders have not heard before so they can contemplate a new vision of their future.

Endorsements and Reviews

SPECIAL THANK YOU to the many, many people who supported me through the writing of my book over the years! It does take a village! Family, friends, business colleagues, clients, students, my network connected to Dr. Deming (the Bay Area Deming User Group Dan Robertson and I co-founded and ran every month for 14 years; In2In Thinking Network; and the Deming Institute continual learners.)

Here are a few of the book’s endorsements, and I’ll share others periodically:

"Full of counterintuitive advice, Pivot Disrupt Transform will shake up your thinking about what it takes to be a leader. Use its self-assessments to find your place in the journey. Use its tools to reroute your path to success.”

Daniel H. Pink, author of WHEN, DRIVE, and TO SELL IS HUMAN

“Pivot Disrupt Transform” is as significant today as W. Edwards Deming’s book “Out of the Crisis” was to Japan’s miraculous post-WWII economic recovery. With 90% of U.S. start-ups failing each year and many Fortune 500 companies struggling to innovate and compete, Marcia Daszko’s book offers leaders dynamic options. Her provocative questions and effective strategies replace the outdated thinking and irrelevant systems and practices that are widely accepted today. As I learned in combat, survival depends on unleashing and trusting the talent available to you. Organizations must learn to continually educate its leaders and trust and value teamwork at every level, or they will continue to fail spectacularly. Or, they can use what Daszko proposes in “Pivot Disrupt Transform” today and choose more wisely."

Colonel Debra M. Lewis, USA Ret. West Point Pioneer, Positivity & Mental Toughness Expert Combat Commander, Harvard MBA

“Pivot Disrupt Transform is a refreshingly honest guide for leaders in today’s world. Marcia Daszko will not just shake up some of your long-held beliefs about leadership—she will also inspire your thinking and move you to positive action. This book is a life changer for organizations everywhere.”

Ken Blanchard, coauthor of The New One Minute Manager and Servant Leadership in Action (with Renee Broadwell)

Questions for Developing Leaders

1. What have you done to create an environment for others to contribute—without being greedy, arrogant, and expect something in return? Do you know how to lead and be inclusive?

2. Have you stopped judging, criticizing, and blaming others? What do you do to support and encourage?

3. Have you shared the Aim of your organization often in multiple ways daily?

4. Have you deeply and often challenged your own beliefs, assumptions, practices?

5. Are you getting the results you want? Are they sustainable? Or would you prefer to transform and experience life as you never before imagined?

Be bold. Be respectful. Be kind. Be you.- Marcia Daszko
